GRS expands its pipeline in Spain with the construction of two PV plants totaling 105 MW for BRUC in Archidona (Malaga). With this project, the company is approaching the fifty or so large photovoltaic projects built on the Iberian Peninsula, and maintains its commitment to promoting the transition to renewable energies in the region.

The Archidona PV plant, which will generate energy equivalent to the consumption of 40,000 homes once completed and interconnected to the grid, is one of GRS’s largest projects in the Iberian market, where it has also completed Carmonita Norte (123 MW), Desafío Solar (50 MW), Las Naranjillas (50 MW) and Insua (48.5 MW) projects.

To ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability, GRS’s engineering, construction, and later, operation and maintenance (O&M) teams have collaborated with other Gransolar Group companies. Thus, PV Hardware (PVH) will supply and install 1,516 solar trackers to maximize the plant’s performance.

The Archidona project reaffirms GRS’s commitment to Europe as a priority market, leveraging favorable investment and financing conditions, and the growing awareness of the need to promote green energy.

Outstanding collaboration

For this project, the company has partnered with BRUC, one of the most dynamic companies in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of assets totaling 8,500 MW in Spain.

Luis Venero, CEO of BRUC, stated: “We trust in the quality and rigor of GRS to build the Archidona solar photovoltaic generation plants, which strengthen our presence in Andalusia. Along with our other ongoing projects, BRUC will have 2,000 MW under construction and operation by the end of the year, from a total portfolio of 8,500 MW in operation, under construction, and under development.”

The Archidona project has also been highly valued by GRS. “Even though we have been a global company practically since our inception, it is always a pleasure for us to participate in a project of this magnitude in Spain,” says Jordi Vega, COO of Grupo Gransolar, who also celebrates this collaboration with BRUC. “Additionally, we are fortunate to always partner with prominent companies in the sector, with whom we share values and a commitment to be a benchmark in the energy transition.”
