JULY

The indiscriminate use of pesticides used in intensive agriculture is leading to the disappearance of insects. More than 40% of insect species are declining and one third are in danger of extinction.

The role of insects in nature is essential: they serve as pollinators and waste cleaners, as well as being the basis of the food chain for thousands of species.
A drastic disappearance of insects could worsen climate change and put thousands of species at risk of extinction.

Hoopoes in a spanish PV plant by GRS

VISIT OF THE MONTH

We would like to introduce you to these two friendly surveillance assistants, who are present during the Operation and Maintenance tasks at one of our photovoltaic plants in Spain. They are two hoopoes that, thanks to their characteristic song, warn us of possible mishaps in the facility.

After a few months with our colleagues, they are so integrated that they protect the photovoltaic modules as if they were their own nests.
