GRS has achieved commercial operation status (Substantial Completion) for Carwarp Energy Park, the 171 MWdc / 150 MWac photovoltaic plant developed and built for Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. (“Canadian Solar”) (NASDAQ: CSIQ).
The plant was completed successfully and ahead of the originally planned schedule, reinforcing GRS’s position as one of the main and most reliable players in Australia’s energy transition. With this new facility in operation, Gransolar Group‘s EPC contractor has now completed a total of 14 major solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in this market, alongside 850 MWdc of solar power and 650 MWh of storage currently under construction across three projects.
Carwarp Energy Park features state-of-the-art technology to maximize efficiency, including 243,000 high-efficiency TOPCon modules provided by Canadian Solar. These components have been integrated with cutting-edge AxoneDuo Infinity single-axis trackers designed by PV Hardware, while the substation and interconnection line were built by Green Grid Connect. Both companies are also part of Gransolar Group.
Strategically located 35 kilometers south of Mildura in Victoria, the facility is estimated to generate approximately 405GWh of renewable electricity annually, enough to power approximately 65,000 Australian households. To ensure a stable and efficient supply, the plant will connect to Ausnet’s new Carwarp Terminal Station via a 6.7-kilometer 220 kV overhead line, optimizing power feed-in to the local grid.
