PV Plant build by GRS in Australia

GRS will build X-Elio’s Blue Grass Solar Farm creating 400 local jobs

We have signed a new contract in Queensland, Australia, following the agreement reached with X-Elio for their Grass Solar Farm project, under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction agreement.

Located in Chinchilla, Queensland, the 200 MW solar farm will prevent the emission of 320,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to the consumption generated by 130,000 vehicles. In addition, Blue Grass Solar Farm will have 385,000 photovoltaic modules, producing approximately 420,000 MWh per year. With this fifth project, we have already been awarded 550 MW in Australia, strengthening our position as one of the leading EPC contractors in this market. As our Managing Director in Australia, Carlos Lopez, points out: “We are proud and looking forward to working with X-Elio on such an important project. Our progress in Australia, with Blue Grass Solar Farm representing our significant milestones in 2020, tells us that we are on the right track“.

He also explains that “we are growing at a good pace in the country, working hard to be part of the sustainability goals set out in Australia’s renewables calendar and to demonstrate that we are a great partner in getting projects done in a timely manner. 2021 will be a great year for GRS in Australia“.

During the entire process of construction, operation and maintenance of the photovoltaic plant, “the construction of X-Elio’s Blue Grass Solar Farm will create up to 400 local jobs, while ensuring the high quality standard with which we build,” added Mr. Lopez. Our experience in the country, together with our professionalism, the resources allocated and our commitment to profitability, have led us to generate more and more confidence among customers and investors.
